What is Sound Bathing?

Sound Bathing using Tibetan bowls is the delivery of sound, vibration and frequency to one or more individuals within a space where the client lays comfortably relaxed to receive sounds produced from Singing Bowls to induce mind and body relaxation. An average session is around 45 minutes and clients often feel rejuvenated in this short time. People often say that they feel like they are being submerged in sound, like the pure sound waves created by the bowls are a visceral experience washing over them.

Tibetan Singing Bowls have been vital healing tools for over 4000 years in India, Nepal, Tibet and China. They are one of the strongest musical instruments for healing with sound therapy and vibrations. During a Sound Bath, they create a range of sounds to restore the normal vibratory frequencies of body, mind and soul as part of a meditative practice where we immerse ourselves in healing sound

Used as ritual tools in the home during prayer and worship to clear out negative energies and invite positive ones, utilised in practices such as Ayurvedic Medicine for their powerful healing properties, or within Buddhist temples to lead the mind into meditation, Tibetan Singing Bowls are a truly holistic tool.

When a full scale of bowls are played for a client in a sound bath the tones relax the mind and body and the parasympathetic nervous system is engaged, releasing tension, lowering the heart rate and blood pressure and triggering the body’s natural healing ability into action.

A truly non-invasive, holistic medium for health and well-being as the body intelligently goes to work on the areas of imbalance within the client who is fully clothed throughout and often under a blanket for maximum comfort and relaxation.

Clients may react differently to the treatment. Some fall asleep, some feel very physically aware and some feel like they have drifted off to a very happy place! Following a session, the client can continue to experience the benefits of having been in the meditative state for some time.
