Myoreflexology

When you think of musculo-skeletal pain, Reflexology is not usually the first therapy that comes to mind. However, did you know that in Denmark, 80% of the people who see a reflexologist go for that very reason?

There are thousands of nerve endings in the feet which all correspond to a gland, organ or muscle in the body. There are even reflex points for the joints and limbs. Reflexology can help reduce pain and speed up the overall recovery period.

Reflexology can help reduce pain often experienced from musculo-skeletal conditions such as knee pain, tendonitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, shoulder pain, hypermobility or neuroma. As reflexology is a natural, non-intrusive therapy it is ideal for those who wish to avoid the use of drugs for pain relief.

Despite being so effective in treating muscular pain and discomfort, we have found that the one system that does not get much attention when learning reflexology is the muscular system. Being able to pin-point and target specific muscles is a rare skill amongst reflexologists and yet offers such powerful solutions to very common conditions.

Course Details

This workshop will bring to your attention once again the workings of the muscles, location and how they can cause far reaching detrimental effects on your client.

We will spend time revising our muscle structure, location, and actions.  This can be such a beneficial addition to your treatment as some conditions may be because of dysfunctional muscles.  Headaches, shoulder issues, back problems, knee issues can all be addressed with good application of reflexology. Your client may be presenting with stress and anxiety, a common issue, because of this their muscles can tighten and refer pain and discomfort adding to their stress or health anxiety.

This will be an exciting revisit to muscles and look at how we can assess our clients range of movement that will then lead us to the areas we need to help release with our wonderful application of reflexology.

Some common conditions we can look at are.

  • Tight back and neck
  • Low back pain
  • Headaches
  • TMJ
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Tight hips
  • Knee pain
  • General shoulder tightness

Be one of the few reflexologists out there who can effectively treat these conditions.
