Booking Your Exam

 

MSCM run ITEC exam days throughout the year. It is a requirement that we register you and pay 12 weeks prior to exam day.

 

All students must now book their exam place through our website by choosing the approprate date from the list available. Please ensure you will definitely be ready for the exam as all exam fees are non-refundable once paid over to ITEC.

 

If you have not yet paid for your exam at the time of course booking please pay now.

 

PLEASE NOTE – If you are an Ultimate student (all fees included) or if you have paid as part of a payment plan please book your exam place but do not pay (at Checkout please choose the second option after Pay by Worldpay – ie select other ways to pay. This will allow you to book without submitting payment details.)

Massage Level 3 (RQF) – by the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC).

Unit iUCT24 – Provide body massage for complementary therapies

 

Exam format – External Practical Examination at Mount Vernon Hospital plus assessment of Case Studies and Evidenced Treatments

• To book and pay for your examination please choose the date, book online and proceed to checkout and pay.
• All examination must be booked and paid for no later than 13 weeks before examination date.
• Registrations with ITEC must be completed (by MSCM on your behalf) no later than 12 weeks before the examination date.
• Late registrations will incur a late booking fee.
• Prior to registration with ITEC we will contact you and confirm.

In addition to this unit learners who wish to undertake this Massage Level 3 (RQF) qualification must also achieve:

• the ITEC Level 3 Certificate Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology or a regulated equivalent. Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology
• Principles and Practice of Complementary Therapies and Business Practice for Complementary Therapies – ITEC Business Modules Home Study Course

Massage ITEC Examination Grading Criteria

Unit specifications and additional supporting material for this unit qualification can be found on the iTEC website

 

Practical examination

• Pass             – 60-74
• Merit           – 75-89
• Distinction –90-100

 

Portfolio of evidence – 20 treatments  – Pass or Refer
Portfolio of evidence – 16 case studies – Pass or Refer

 

Grade boundaries for units and the overall calculation for the qualification grade are open to annual review. Following this review, these boundaries and overall calculations can be adjusted by ITEC. This review and possible change within a qualification are to ensure the standard of the qualification grade is upheld throughout the qualification’s lifecycle.

Important Please Read

Students taking ITEC therapy examinations are required to be assessed by the tutor no more than 6 months before exam date. For most students this works well as we run mock exams on the last day of the course. However, for those who defer their examinations beyond 6 months you are required to be re-assessed.

 

To help facilitate this we have introduced a day specifically for mock exams in Massage, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage. This has been scheduled for 2 weeks prior to ITEC exam day.

 

This day can also be used to hand in case study folders and other coursework for marking. (This applies to all).

 

If you are unable to attend this date or are a returning Aromatherapy student you will need to make a private arrangement with your tutor. (Charges will apply for their time).
